There is a special State Senate election in Virginia Beach – and a small sliver of Norfolk – on January 10. That’s the day before the legislative session, and losing this election could cost us our climate majority. That means we would say goodbye to the last three years of hard-fought progress for solar and wind, clean energy jobs, and flood resilience. With very close margins in the legislature, your vote is incredibly important- make a plan to vote now.
Here's Why We Are Endorsing Aaron Rouse for Virginia's SD-7
Aaron Rouse spent his early years training for and then playing in the NFL, and then he returned to his community to serve them in the Virginia Beach City Council. He is deeply dedicated to this district and has demonstrated a firm commitment to climate policies that increase resilience to flooding, reduce air pollution, and help transition the state to clean, renewable energy. With critical issues on the line under Governor Youngkin, Virginia Beach and Norfolk residents need a strong representative who does not take orders from the Governor and will do what is right to safeguard their community in 2023 and beyond.
